It's almost time. Fall’s not here quite yet… but your house is already whispering: “Please get me ready before it’s cold and dark forever.” [Your house might be haunted. Maybe you should move???] =)

Here’s a quick fall prep punch list:

• Check for drafts around doors and windows [your heating bill will thank you].
• Clean the gutters. That’s right, again. Leaves are coming.
• Swap ceiling fan direction to clockwise for cozy vibes. [To be honest, we have to look this up every year—we never remember which direction the fan is supposed to rotate.]
• Trim trees and bushes away from the house [and power lines]. Terry did this last weekend—GOLD STAR!
• Test your sump pump now, not during a storm. Trust us.

Knock these out in the next few weeks and you’ll be the smug, prepared neighbor come November. And who doesn’t love the opportunity for a little smugness??
